The Year of the Deer
The creativity involved in setting up the displays for Quilt Market is impressive. I love this modge-podged deer! It struck me how many fabric collections feature deer this year. Move over owls and foxes, make room for the deer.
In this blog post I'd like to try to give you a little taste of what it is like to walk the aisles at the market. Some displays draw you right in and some you walk by hardly noticing. It is too bad that there isn't some way for the public to enjoy these displays, the vendors put a lot into them. So, today are displays that caught my eye and next time I'll show the quilts or projects that impressed me.
I think this might be the most photographed display at the Quilt Market in Pittsburgh. The debut of the first collection from Cotton and Steel, a new division of RJR fabrics, was highly anticipated. It was all kept very secret until the market started. Their collection was impresive and of course I ordered some. Duh!
I thought their video showing how their fabric was manufactured was interesting. Check it out here if you are interested in that kind of thing.
This is just a smattering of what is there - just what I remembered to take a picture of. Whew - it can be exhausting to be so inspired.
Stay tuned for some impressive quilts.
